A winter flower in bloom. May all the seeds we've sewn and bulbs we've planted bring us life and beauty in the years to come, long after we've forgotten about the sacrifices and struggles. Thank you, universe/dieties/friends, for the lovely reminders.

The morning started out like any other day and year until she realized she had the choice to be whoever she wanted to be for today. And that choice would carry into every day and be fluid and flexible such that the day ended up beginning like any other day and year after all.
Parable aside, I'm happy to have gotten in a long walk to kick off an anticipated new year. This is a tradition of mine and a habit I hope to strengthen this year as I continue to find ways to travel within my own city and home until we can safely explore and physically mingle in unstructured ways again.

All in all a productive and lovely weekend after a hard week. Seafood and polaroids by the river with @bobbyabrahamson , some sunny walks and lazy nights, a new JankyChic side deck, extended rain and wind block for back patio installed and first batch of Kolaches that I ever got right. I wasn’t too sure about the pastries since I very rarely bake, have never had a batch look or taste great, and the yeast turned into a volcano ... but after a long day of letting them double rise while working in the yard I was rewarded. And James confirmed — a bit large but tasty. Still bummed to miss in person Thanksgiving with friends and family, but grateful to still be here and thinking the next time we get to all be in person will be oooohhh so sweet.

Incredible to see @bobbyabrahamson ‘s outdoor exhibit of polaroid type 55 portraits shot over 10 yrs in St. john’s. Not only inspiring to see and pay tribute to hundreds of people from the community represented, especially fitting to be viewing in the town/neighborhood “square”.
