It’s beautiful and the Hotel Coronado is one of the only Victorian wood hotels still in existence in the US. It’s flipping unbelieveable! Plus, Some Like it Hot (Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis & Jack Lemmon) was filmed there! You can go to the beach there for free if you are sneaky!

It’s way cheaper to stay in Mesa than in any other place in Phoenix. Tons of hotels and whatnot (and retirement trailer parks – FUN!). Plus there’s the flea market (awesome) and the dog track (not as awesome, but could be fun if you’re into it.)

There’s a ride up (as in on a horse!) bar there. My grandma took me there. She goes EVERY SUNDAY AFTERNOON for their live music! Enjoy a cheap cold beer, listen to the country cover band, and check out the incredible vistas! I’ll forward you a pic. You NEED TO GO!
